November


  Happy November! 

  November is one of my favorite months. It's a month of planning and preparation, while also being a month that the weather forces us to slow down and take note of the seasons changing. It's also the month that I put the finishing touches on my Christmas shopping. As well as dust off the old family recipes and try some bright and shiny new ones. 
  It's also the month of our wedding anniversary and the month to be thankful for the blessings in our lives. 

  The only downfall to November is the time change. It leave me staring out the window at 5:45pm asking what time it is for about a week. Sad, but true.

Debt Free Chicken Wings

 Let's talk about debt for a minute.  We have made our fair share of mistakes with money in the past; from owning too much house for our income, credit cards, not budgeting, multiple vehicle payments, the list goes on. We even did the really dumb things like financing meat and fitness equipment. We have joked that the only debt mistakes we didn't make were student loans and time shares.   When we started on our debt free journey and worked to change our habits, and dig ourselves out of the debt we had created for ourselves, we all had to make some sacrafices.    One thing that hit my husband hard was chicken wings.    Yes, really.   He loves chicken wings, always has and probably always will. How I Avoid The Winter Blues

Everyone  is decorating for Christmas and I'm over here putting up all the fall decorations I caught on clearance today! While I hold off on decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving, I do go ahead and get some of the artificial lights out right around the time that the time changes in the fall. I struggle with the winter blues and it starts when the time changes, and then comes back again in January.  Having extra, cheery lights up around the house helps to combat that issue. I didn't put two and two together about this until I was telling a friend that I always get a little sad after I take all the decorations down after the holidays...and she mentioned that it was probably the absence of the extra lights. I tested her theory out a couple winters ago, and she was totally right! (Extra vitamin D supplements help too.😉) Guys, I'm blessed with some pretty smart friends!  I bought these candles last year to have some extra, beautiful light to enjoy...
